ABOUT ME!
"It's not selfish to love yourself, take care of yourself, and make your Happiness a priority. It's necessary." - Mandy Hale
Welcome to my page!
My name is Sakury and I am a 8th grader at Nelson Academy in Signal Hill, California. My favorite subject in school is English Language Arts because it somewhat focuses on imagination and creativity. When I'm not in school, I like to use the computer with or without my friends and watch movies and/or shows online. I enjoy these activities because it gives me a break from reality and it feels like a whole new world when I am doing so. I like to enjoy my recreational time and use it when I get the opportunity. In ten years, I see myself in college. I see myself studying and finishing school at the University of Washington. I am preparing for the real world as I am about to graduate and conquer my goals and life aspirations.
One of the classes I took at Nelson Academy this year was "Advanced, Computers". This website is my digital portfolio, a collection of the work I've done over this past year. My digital portfolio shows you my abilities when using certain computer programs and because it is on the web, it will change over time as I learn new things. This year, I:

MY GREATEST SUCCESS
One of the activities that I feel most proud of is the Interactive Children's Book. In this activity, I learned how to apply custom animations to graphics, apply sound effects to an animation effect, change animation order and hide a graphic after a custom animation. I am most proud of this activity because I used my imagination to create a story with pictures and created a timed PowerPoint to illustrate it. There were a lot of pictures but I managed to create a continuous story to go along with it. I timed every slide so the reader has the perfect amount of time to read my story.
MY BIGGEST CHALLENGE

One of the activities that I feel was my biggest challenge is the Extreme Makeover. In this activity, I learned how to improve a PowerPoint with the skills I had learned. This activity was my biggest challenge because there were multiple things I had to consider and change to improve it in my own way. All the skills I learned had to be incorporated into the PowerPoint and multiple thoughts ran through my head as I tried. I had to insert my skills and use my creativity to make the PowerPoint my own.
